The Cartesian and influences moral

Then I present an activity of the subject "History of Philosophy" which is to relate to some aspect Descartes. In this case we relate the author with the influences that had to set the maximum Cartesian morals.

morality Descartes Descartes appears when going to exercise his method, because as a person must continue to act in everyday life and the rules of method does not allow it. This will be provisional time in order to live happily as a person and not to seek the truth. Descartes adopted the definition of provisional morals by four maxims.

The first peak, the most important, consists of two parts. The first is influenced by the relativism of Montaigne, Descartes is because we obey the laws and customs of our country and remains a traditional religion. Which might be related to the second part of this maxim, as the most moderate of them were considered sages and for tradition. In the latter part be influenced by Aristotle, who promulgated the good average. Ni excesses or shortages are good, prudent moderation is the virtue par excellence, and therefore the easiest way to get the happiness we seek humans.

As to the second highest, would be to stand firm on the decisions that we take very doubtful that they could be and take them as if they were more real, because life often forces us to act lack of insurance and final elements. It would take second maxim of the Stoics, who proclaimed the conformity of nature to live happily. For them nature was a good man so what happened to her decision should not be discussed. We can see the link under the Stoics with the firmness of Descartes to their moral standards.

With the third peak should dominate what is within our reach: the thought. Not wanting what we can not reach, because we do not get it heading towards unhappiness. Is not synonymous with conformity, but must adapt to our situation. At this maximum we would meet again with the Stoics, but especially with Seneca.

And finally, we have the fourth highest moral influenced by the intellectualism of Socrates. The Greek philosopher spread his theory that one who knows the good necessarily have to act well. Relationship found in this maxim which includes the three above, where people live happily as we must, according to Descartes, to follow the moral rules and therefore would not be reasonable to know the road to happiness does not follow him.

Pokemon Get Shadow Pikachu

Skepticism is a philosophical trend that began Pyrrho of Elis in the Hellenistic period. In summary, the Pyrrhonism (or skepticism) proposed the suspension of all judgments, falling into a state of total paralysis, to get the peace of soul and happiness. In the Renaissance, this stream is recovered, mainly by wars between Protestants and Catholics, access to new cultures in America and criticism of scholasticism. This skepticism was close to cultural relativism and tolerance. This skepticism doubt, therefore, the human ability to find the truth and therefore did not believe in scientific knowledge. This current asserts the need to suspend the trial where other philosophers find answers to questions, using the method of setting examinations in every way possible to achieve, given the same force of various arguments, that suspension of the trial and after achieve the peace of the soul, considering that man is unable to reach any certainty.

Descartes rejects this approach intends to suspend all judgments, and that relies on the existence of truth. Surprised by new discoveries of the scientific revolution. Descartes therefore relies on the existence of scientific knowledge (as opposed to the skeptics), but this should establish that it is knowledge and it is not. This will serve as a tool makes skepticism "doubt." Methodical doubt you can reject all proposals quotas (never mentioned in the moral realm, as it seeks to avoid the paralysis), accepting those totally true. Furthermore, in contrast to the skeptics, Descartes believes that the powers to hear the man (the reason the main one) are universal in all and also believed to be sufficient to know the truth.

skepticism somehow served to Descartes (and has been throughout history) to establish that knowledge is true and which can not be doubted. Since the process of doubt, Descartes and others, rejected this false knowledge for later replaced by another true. Descartes was very intelligent using a tool with a skeptical mind pure so totally contrary to skepticism, to lay the foundations of scientific knowledge. Therefore, the major point of connection established with the Skeptics Descartes has endured, and all scientific theories that have not passed through the filter of a doubt, something more moderate than the Cartesian, have fallen. For this "doubt" has established itself as the self-control mechanism of science to determine the veracity of knowledge, so if you do not realize their mistake, other than "dude" for you on the veracity of your claims yes you can.
