Then I present an activity of the subject "History of Philosophy" which is to relate to some aspect Descartes. In this case we relate the author with the influences that had to set the maximum Cartesian morals.
The first peak, the most important, consists of two parts. The first is influenced by the relativism of Montaigne, Descartes is because we obey the laws and customs of our country and remains a traditional religion. Which might be related to the second part of this maxim, as the most moderate of them were considered sages and for tradition. In the latter part be influenced by Aristotle, who promulgated the good average. Ni excesses or shortages are good, prudent moderation is the virtue par excellence, and therefore the easiest way to get the happiness we seek humans.
With the third peak should dominate what is within our reach: the thought. Not wanting what we can not reach, because we do not get it heading towards unhappiness. Is not synonymous with conformity, but must adapt to our situation. At this maximum we would meet again with the Stoics, but especially with Seneca.
And finally, we have the fourth highest moral influenced by the intellectualism of Socrates. The Greek philosopher spread his theory that one who knows the good necessarily have to act well. Relationship found in this maxim which includes the three above, where people live happily as we must, according to Descartes, to follow the moral rules and therefore would not be reasonable to know the road to happiness does not follow him.
